Organisational Structure

aPODD is a "virtual" R&D organisation, with minimum fixed costs to ensure that most of the resources are directly invested in drug development programmes.

aPODD Foundation is governed by a Board of Trustees. The Trustees are responsible for:

aPODD’s founders and directors have extensive experience in drug discovery and development with a relevant track record in big pharma, biotech companies, contract research organisations and paediatric hospitals.  In addition to their expertise, they have established close connections with key opinion leaders in the areas of drug discovery, cancer research, regulatory practice and paediatric oncology.

aPODD Foundation has been granted charitable status by the Charity Commission, the regulator for charities in England and Wales.  Our charity registration number is 1151744

More than 1,500 children are diagnosed with cancer very year in the UK and most of them will be treated with old cytotoxic drugs that may bring to the lucky long term sruvivors severe side ffects late in life.

Newer, better drugs are not specifically developed for children.
